Quick detailer

A quick detailer is a spray bottle product meant for light maintenance between full washes, sprayed onto a panel and wiped off with a clean microfiber towel. It is designed to remove dust, light fingerprints and water spots while adding a small amount of gloss and slickness, without the buckets, hose and time a full wash requires.

It matters for keeping a car looking fresh in the days between washes, and for topping up the hydrophobic feel of an existing wax, sealant or coating without adding a new protective layer of its own. Many owners use it after a light rain or dusty drive when the car is not dirty enough to justify a full wash.

Look for a formula matched to how protected the paint already is, since some quick detailers are made specifically as coating boosters while others are simple, general purpose sprays. Always spray onto the panel rather than directly onto the towel for even coverage, and use enough product to let the towel glide rather than drag. A common mistake is using a quick detailer on a genuinely dirty car, where the light lubrication is not enough to prevent grit from being dragged across the paint.
